A Cozy Home and A Free Meal

Well we are at Ella’s house, Jonah’s friend who was a foriegn exchange student with him this past year. So we are here with her, her parents, brother and sister.  It is a lot of fun!  They made us a WONDERFUL meal tonight and we ate outside with some of their friends.  They have a lake very close to their house and past the lake you can see mountains!  Ohhh so beautiful! So we are staying for free and eating for free!  They treat us like family so it is really great.  We saw some amazing churches today!  There is this bell tower in Munich that takes about 13 days to climb….. maybe not that long bet it sure takes a while, we climbed it and saw the best view of Munich possible.  Just wait till we get the pictures up!  Anyway I am going to bed now because it is late and I have an early morning.  But I thought I’d do just a quick short entry to fill you in.  so take care!  Love and peace!  Terra

A Quick Note

I just wanted to say that I don’t know what the three of us would do without Peter… he is a great tour guide and has been taking on the stress of figuring ALL transportation out from city to city and also booking all of our hostels and everything.  Anyway I just wanted to touch on that quick.  We are very lucky!

Love, Terra     ohhh someone just took my chair at the table!  Bummer!  There are so many languages around me!!!

sleepy

ohhh I am tired today!  The train was a lot of fun last night, but we really didn’t get any sleep… so I’m kind of hoping to just take it easy today.  We’ve all been talking about how much stronger we’ve gotten since we started this trip (keep in mind it’s only the 4th day) so it’s just hilarous.  It was really fun yesterday in Dam Square in Amsterdam before we left because there were all of these entainers…. we bought a CD from this awesome band Rafven, they from Sweden and are traveling around.  It’s just so fun to see all these travelers and different types of people.  Some are traveling for a week, some a month, some a year.  It’s just unbelievable that we all have this beautiful world to enjoy.  Last night we were talking to the older man from Morocco (if you read Pete’s Blog that will make more sense) and we were talking about where we live and what we eat and all of that fun stuff and he was telling me how beautiful America is… it was kinda cool to hear his perspective since I left there so I could experience something beautiful.  Some people just really open your eyes.  I love all the people and I am so excited for Germany!  I might be meeting up with a good friend and wonderful woman Leigha, so I am very excited and hope it all works out!  Anyway I am going to head out now, I hope that this made a little sense!  Thank you all again for the love and support.  Love and Peace,

Terra

…And into Muenchen

We took a night train out of Amsterdam last night and it is now about eight in the morning in Munich. We are all pretty excited to meet our host, Jonah´s friend, Ella. We were in a sleeper car last ight, but those beds are made for people about three feet smaller then I am, so I´m a little cramped. It probably doesnt help that Terra and I insist on sleeping in the same bed so we were sharing the space of a child between the two of us. Well, thats what travelings about. The keyboards here are really different. The z and the y are switched and they have ö ä ü which is really cool, and I cant really figure out their apostrophe system. The two other guys that were in our cabin were really nice. One was an older man from Morocco and the other was our age from Croatia. We had a good time with them last night. Now we are off to see the city of Munich, its going to be a beautiful dday.

Much love,

Pete

Hey guys!

I’m sitting in front of the PC in the lobby of Brian’s Hostel with Terra, Pete, Eric and 4 European (English I think) girls and Brian the owner. Brian is on the phone with a client. Ooh la la. Where did ooh la la come from anyways? Was it to emulate pompousness?
Tonight we leave for Munich and its a 10 hour ride. gadzooks.
I’m thinking about you guys alot. especially zac. just because, nothing wierd. For all of you guys reading this, thanks because we couldn’t have done it, someway or another, without you. Amsterdam is absolutley beautiful and we got super lucky with a cheap hostel thats right on the canal. We saw the Van Gogh museum and the Anne Frank yesterday and they were amazing. i gotta go.

Last day in Amsterdam.

I am very bummed to be leaving the beautiful Amsterdam, however we are going to see more beautiful things soon. Everything has been so much fun, last night we went out and listened to Amazing Jazz (thanks to pete)…met a lot of great people. We stopped at a dance club for a little bit then headed backto the hostel late late late. It is so much fun walking in Amsterdam at night. It has this magical glow about it. Alright well I’ll try to write again soon (the computer just told me I’m getting kicked off) thank you for the love and support. Peace and love to you all and take care.

Pretty Unbelieveable

Last night we went out to a jazz club and saw some of the best jazz I’ve ever seen. Two tenor sax’s and piano, drums and bass. Oh, man, it was so sweet. Eric and I talked to the bassist for awhile and he was so chill. It was such a good night. We were there for probably over four hours. It was nuts. The sound was amazing. The bassist was playing slap bass on the upright and his solos were so long and intricate, I’ve never seen or heard jazz like that before. It transcended everything I thought that jazz was it was so good. We are kicking around here in Amsterdam for the rest of the day and then training to Munich overnight. Hard to believe that it’s only been three days.

Much Love

The Beautiful

Oh my goodness! I am so blessed to be able to do this trip! All of our work has really paid off. We are in Amsterdam right now and already I am blown away. We flew in yesterday morning and walked around all day in pure happiness. Today is even better, the sun is shining and since it’s our 2nd day we all feel a little more comfortable with the area… everyone is sooo nice here. So we took a walk to the Anne Frank house today and are back at our hostel to eat some bread and cheese then off again. I can’t believe how beautiful every building is and all the people and bikes… my goodness you have to look out for those bikes. Nobody really drives here. It goes 1.Bikers 2. trains 3.walkers 4.cars….. so the cars stall for everything… it’s so bizarre to have a car stop for you and tell you to cross the street. It’s also nice to see like 80 year old couples biking together to get their food at like the only food store in the area. So everyone here looks amazing because they are always on the go walking or biking. Except none of them slow down for you and itf there is a street it is for them, so fun! I am learning so much from this trip, we all need to stop and look around. If you can stop and be in awe of a house or a store or a person in other countries and states then why not where you live? I am seeing myself change already from this trip. The world is beautiful and we really need to take advantage of that. Another thing I’ve been doing is walking into hair salons in the area (I’d really like to open my own and there are some awesome ideas here!) they are SO COOL! There was one that was like almost all glass and it had a basement part to the salon so you could watch them style hair while you are in the waiting area… so sweet. Anyway thank you for taking the time to check up on us. I do miss you all you really realize how important family and friends are when you leave. So thank you for meaning so much to us. Now I am going to join the boys upstairs to eat some bread and cheese in our Hostel room. Thank you for reading this is is so fun to share. I love you all. Peace love and God bless.

Day one in Amsterdam

We arrived in Amsterdam about ten in the morning yesterday, and then walked all around our hostel. It is a beautiful city, and we are all so excited to be here. This morning we got up and went to the Anne Frank house and now are off to the Van Gogh museum. None of us can really believe that we are here. It is really fun to be traveling with my younger brother Eric and his friend Jonah, who has quickly become our friend and other brother. I guess that all of that hard work for the past six months was all worth it, and that’s only the first day. None of us want the trip to end, but we wont have to think of that for another three weeks. Please stay posted, we will try to update as much as possible.

Much Love,

Pete
